Doujin Market 2016 at Suntec City is a grand adventure and like all grand adventures, it’s dangerous to go alone and unprepared! \ud83d\ude2e<\/p>\n

Here are some tips that will help you beat the crowds and get through the weekend.<\/p>\n

1. War, War Never Changes <\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n

… but how we fight it certainly has. If you’re preparing your plan of attack for the convention, you can start by reading Part 1 of our Doujima Survival Guide<\/a><\/strong><\/span> so that you know\u00a0how to get to the convention.<\/p>\n

Also, don’t forget to download our event map<\/a><\/span><\/strong>!<\/p>\n

Aside from having a ton of booths with us this year, we also have plenty of seminars and portfolio reviews, as well as Singapore\u2019s first Visual Novel Hub!<\/p>\n

We also recommend checking out some of your favorite artists<\/a><\/strong><\/span> before the show to get a sneak peek at what they\u2019ll be selling, just to get a better idea of how much your wallet is going to cry. ^^;;<\/p>\n

2. We require more minerals<\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n

Bring small denominations when you’re purchasing doujin products and trinkets!<\/p><\/div>\n

We know it\u2019s a no-brainer, but you definitely want to bring plenty of $2<\/strong><\/span> and $10<\/strong><\/span> notes when heading down to the con.<\/p>\n

If you need to break up your bigger notes at nearby stores before buying from the artists, do it!<\/p>\n

We\u2019re sure that they\u2019ll appreciate not having to run around trying to break your change.<\/p>\n

(And if you’re an artist, be sure to bring change for your loyal supplicants… errr… fans, and do bring a float to help with your first few sales!)<\/p>\n

3. I have the power (bank)<\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n

You don’t want to go flat at Doujima. \ud83d\ude41<\/p><\/div>\n

Charge your batteries! There will be no power outlets provided for visitor use<\/strong><\/span>,\u00a0so to keep from getting flat at the event, you\u2019ll want to make sure you have a power bank equipped.<\/p>\n

Better make sure it\u2019s fully-charged too – you don\u2019t want to make that mistake. We\u2019ve been there, trust us.<\/p>\n

4. Stay awhile and listen<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

Learn new tricks and techniques at our seminars.<\/p><\/div>\n

If you\u2019re attending our seminars, be prepared to take notes (since photography and recording is not allowed)!<\/p>\n

Bring whatever your note-taking tool of choice is, and remember to turn up early since seats are limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.<\/p>\n

Also, remember to bring a sample of your work so it\u2019s easier to get feedback if you’re attending Portfolio Review sessions.<\/p>\n

5. Transform and roll out!<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Now that you\u2019ve read our list, remember to finish packing the day before the con so you won\u2019t forget anything essential!<\/p>\n
