Supporting Doujin Market this year was Noise Movement, an initiative of the National Arts Council which\u00a0provides seed funding to ground-up programs to catalyze arts creation, participation and appreciation among\u00a0young people. The event has also been recognized by the International Otaku Expo Association (I.O.E.A.) of\u00a0Japan as a premier exhibition in Singapore.<\/p>\n
<\/a>Our first exhibitor from Japan was sold out by the second day.<\/p><\/div>\n
\u201cIt has been an honor to exhibit at what is arguably Singapore’s largest youth arts event,\u201d said Mr. Darren\u00a0Kwok, director of Afterthought Studios and publisher of Singapore’s first successfully crowd-funded visual\u00a0novel game. In addition to presenting the Visual Novel Hub, Afterthought Studios also held some 50 portfolio\u00a0reviews for those aspiring to produce their own content.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe met many young talents, and gave them sound advice on how to take their art to the next level,\u201d he said.\u00a0\u201cThere’s a lot of potential here \u2013 just a lack of mentors willing to entertain new ideas and new avenues for\u00a0self-expression.
